kids craft: paper plate tractors

beep! beep! honk! honk!

one of ben's favorite things is getting to operate the coveted glue stick.  he may not always get the glue exactly were it is supposed to go, but practice makes perfect, right??  being a three year old, his attention span is still that of a gnat, so whenever we sit down to do a project of any kind it has to be one of those that needs to be quick & as painless as possible.

last week, i cut off my hair. it was the first hair appointment since i don't know when. it was very needed & it has definitely brightened up my face. maybe because it literally takes ten minutes from wet to cute or the fact that i don't have the urge to messy bun it every single day. pretty sure this new blonde wavy bob style is my calling.

watching ben learn has been one of my favorite things of being a mom.  i'm pretty sure when he gets old enough for homework, i'll be the mom having to youtube for help. he remembers everything & knows so much already.. not trying to brag or anything. he thoroughly enjoys learning activities & that makes this mama very excited.  hopefully that sticks around when he's older.

sidewalk chat with the ppam blog: how we met

its been a rainy few days here & we're looking at several more days of rain before the sun comes out again. anyone else floating away?

upcycled open air shelves

several months ago, one of our neighbors was tossing out a bunch of old garage shelves & I knew they would make for a fabulous shelving system in our kitchen on my kind of budget.  we have this bare wall in our kitchen that I really wished the builders would have put a cabinet on.  but I'm sure it was their idea to use that space as a dining nook.  us not so much.

Summetime in Texas will be here in a few short months & I'll be complaining about how miserable I am. I promise that. I hate insane amounts of heat. Mix that with humidity & I'm ready to pack my bags for the North Pole. Don't get me wrong, I love lake days, camping & swimming, but this fair skin girl can only take so much.  But for now, I'm soaking up every bit of this amazing spring that we are having, minus those severe storms, even though I do love me a good rain.

sidewalk chat with the ppam blog: travel

happy Friday y'all! we're 3 weeks until our 5th wedding anniversary, which means 3 weeks til we're hopping on an airplane for a little getaway in vegas. Nina is coming up for a little staycation with Ben and our beloved furbabies.

have you heard that season 2 of fixer upper is on netflix? binge watched all the episodes yet? I haven't gotten through all of them, but watched enough to get my project list to grow by a few more items.  one of these days, I will make my way down south to visit magnolia farms for a little retail therapy.  or retail wishing & dreaming.

opening day - blastball edition

back at the end of February, we signed Ben up to play baseball for the first time.  being 3, we get to start pretty simple with blastball.  no umpires or score counting; just good fashioned fun while implementing the basics of baseball.

one thing I love most about blogs is getting to know other bloggers, not just what recipes or crafts they've completed.  I have made lots of wonderful friendships with other fellow bloggers - it's part of the reason I just can't stay away from the blogosphere.

my favorite lip products

when I became a stay at home mom, I had these ideas in my head of what it would be like. didn't we all? getting myself all nicely put together everyday, whether I leave the house or not. big joke. now I'm thrilled about stay at home days, where I can clean the house all makeup free with no bra on.  it's what I live for.  is it just a boy mom thing or are the girl moms feeling the same way?
