opening day - blastball edition

back at the end of February, we signed Ben up to play baseball for the first time.  being 3, we get to start pretty simple with blastball.  no umpires or score counting; just good fashioned fun while implementing the basics of baseball.

we've been practicing for the last month to prepare for the big day. opening day was last Saturday & it was one of the best days ever. we started with the cutest little parade introducing all the teams from 4U all the way to 14U - baseball & softball included.

Ben & his 5 teammates were so excited to hit the ball. pretty sure that's the most favorite thing for everyone their age.  when it wasn't their turn batting, they fielded, which was more like watching someone trying to herd cats. major laughs y'all.

here's some fun photos from the day..

this was bens first up to bat & he smacked the ball hard.  mama was so proud, as he usually is not interested in batting, only fielding.

typical 3 & 4 year olds making sandcastles.  why play ball when you can play in the sand?!  I have vacuumed sand more times than I care to to admit. and that little girl in front.  Ben LOVES her! most of the time they fielded, they just stood around hugging each other. lol
