quick & easy hair ties

I don't know about you, but i am one of those people who can't keep up with hair ties to save my life. and having a cat who is a kleptomaniac doesn't help my situation either. i've been making these for some time now because their so easy & inexpensive. so now i have a plethora of them stashed away for those days when i reach into my bathroom drawer and its sad and empty of all those hair ties that i had just purchased days before.  plus these guys don't eat your hair like those elastic goody-goody kind.

And when hobby lobby puts their ribbon department in the 50% off ad, you don't mess around.  this is that week ladies (hint hint).  rolls are usually $2.99 each but 50% off means you can get a whole mess of cutesy ties for next to nothing. i will wait here while you run to the store. :)

Supplies:
elastic ribbon in your preferred pattern or solid
scissors
ruler
flat hair iron

1. measuring your ribbon, make cuts every 9 inches.  these rolls are 4 yards so you should get about 16 ties from each roll.

2. Fold over ribbon tie in half and tie a knot in the end to create your hair tie.

3. Heat up your hot iron and press the cut ends in the iron, sealing the ends to prevent fraying.

If you're gifting them & want something cute, i simply cut kraft paper in 3"x2.5"  flat cards & slipped them over.

Easy peasy yall!

If you manage to score this elastic ribbon on sale, you can literally make hair ties for LESS THAN $0.10 each. yes you read that right. & the options are endless when it comes to the styles of elastic ribbon available.

So what are you waiting for?
