christmas on main

before damon & i purchased our home where we live now, we lived quite a few years in grapevine. and every once in a while, i find myself reminiscing about apartment living sans child. the luxury of no lawn mowing is pretty much what i loved the most about it. we were also pretty close to everything, which was great in its own aspects, but living out between two sets of railroad tracks does have its perks of being pretty quiet. your body learns to tune the trains out. but then again, we learned to tune out the airplanes since our apartment was in a direct path for the major international airport that we just lived north of. but i certainly don't miss the high rent fees, no major remodeling & stomping feet of the upstairs tenants.

grapevine holds a little sweet spot for me. and grapevine holding the "christmas capital of texas" was pure destiny that i lived there for the amount of time that i did. as soon as main street starts showing signs of christmas, my commute usually added a few extra minutes of me crawling down main, swooning over all the decorate store fronts & christmas trees. really yall, it doesn't get much better; well maybe living at the north pole or living in the christmas aisles of hobby lobby.

this year was no different. we made the thirty minute drive a few times this past season, so mama could enjoy and swoon over the christmas overload.  and i particularly love when there's major traffic, because that means we get to crawl slower & look longer.

after christmas activities christmas morning, damon's dad had to head back to arizona, so we decided to make one extra trip to grapevine, walk the street, see the comedic snowmen & enjoy the amazing (& abnormal) weather that we were graced with that day.

next year, i've totally decided on making a canister/bucket to hold my tree, even though its fake. seriously how cute!

benjamin was in awe of all the leaves.. we had several minutes of kicking, tossing and giggling through the mounds of leaves that we encountered. we don't get snow storms, just leaves & i think for him that is 100% ok.

these snowmen were so incredibly cute with their comedic routine & singing - benjamin may have busted a move on his own makeshift, leaf covered dance floor in front of them.

after getting our christmas fix, we bid grandpa farewell & headed back to our little home between railroad tracks & sonic restaurants.

you find the shirt benjamin is wearing here.
